Papers of Frederick MacKenzie, an editor for "La Follette's Magazine," 1909-1917, and later director of publicity for the American Association for Labor Legislation and associate editor of "American Labor Legislation Review." Born in Black Earth, Wisconsin, MacKenzie was also an editor at the University of Wisconsin, 1908, and an editorial assistant in the office of the Secretary of Labor, 1918-1919. Papers include personal and professional correspondence, his M.A. thesis (U.W., 1906), his "La Follette's Magazine" editorials (unsigned), his college scrapbook, as well as "Frederick MacKenzie, An Appreciation" by Suzanne La Follette (privately printed by Nellie MacKenzie, 1928) and photographs of MacKenzie and his wife Nellie. Correspondents include Robert M. La Follette (one letter), William Evjue, Gilbet Roe, John B. Andrews, George R. Gove, Herbert Quick, and Paul Watrous.
